Muringakka Upperi (Drumstick fry)
It is drumstick season and got some fresh drumsticks from a friend and some were very tender and soft. For the first time heard from a friend (sree) about muringaka upperi (drumstick fry) which is a very common in north Kerala, got the recipe from her and tried it the very next day and it’s nice.. thanks dear sree priya
Drumsticks – 3
Shallots – 10
Dry red chillies – 2
Jeera – ½ tsp
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Chilly powder – ½ tsp
Water – ½ cup
Cut the drumsticks.
Crush the shallots, redchilly, turmeric powder, jerra and chilly powder.
Heat coconut oil in a pan and add the crushed masala and add water and cut drumstick.
Cook the drumstick and then add little oil and fry till it becomes dry.
