Jeeraka kanji

White Rice – 1 cup
Fenugreek seeds- 1tsp
Turmeric Powder – ½ tsp
Coconut – ½ cup
Cumin Seeds – ½ tsp
Shallots – 3
Water – 3 cups

For Tempering
Ghee – 2 tsp
Shallots (Chopped) – 3


Wash and cook the rice adding fenugreek seeds, salt and turmeric powder.
Grind coconut, cumin and shallots to make a soft paste.
Add the grinded paste to the rice and allow it to boil.
Cook well to make it to the porridge consistency.
Heat ghee in a pan and add shallots and fry till it brown and add it to the kanji
