Kaya Mehzhukkuuratti / vazhakkai poriyal(Raw Banana Fry)

This is a quick and easy vegetarian recipe made out of raw banana. It goes great with rice and other vegetarian curries.

Raw Banana – 2

Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp

Chilly powder – 11/2 tsp

Hing – ¼ tsp

Grated Coconut – 2 tsp




To Temper

Mustard seeds -1 tsp

urad dal – 1 tsp

Dry red chilies – 2

Curry leaves – few


Peel the skin of the raw banana and cut into cubes and wash it.

Cook the banana adding turmeric, salt and ½ tsp chilly powder and cook till it becomes soft.

Heat oil in a pan and do the tempering.

Add the balance chilly powder, hing and then put the cooked banana to it.

Cook till it turns crispy and add the coconut and mix well and turn of the heat.
