Very tasty paneer recipe which can be made with dry fenugreek leaves (kasuti methi) and paneer. But this time added a good portion of ginger (adrak) which gave the dish a lighter feel and those who fear to take paneer because it is a heavy dish this version of curry is perfect.
Paneer is also know as Indian cottage cheese made out of curdling of milk. The dried leaves of methi is kasuri methi and it is one of the ancient spices used for flavoring dishes. Ginger (adrak) also has a pungent and powerful taste with many health benefits.
This mix of all these 3 combo gives us an exotic dish.
Paneer – 250 gm
Jeera- 1 1/2 tsp
Chilly – 2 tsp
Garlic – 2 tsp
Ginger – 6 tsp
Onion – 1 cup
Tomato – 1/2 cup
Methi (dry) – 4 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
Chilly powder- 2 tsp
Coriander powder – 2 tsp
All vegetables chopped
Heat oil in pan and fry paneer till it turns golden in color.
Take the paneer from the oil and keep it aside
To this oil add jeera and once it splutters add 1 tsp of methi leaves and fry for few seconds.
Add chill, ginger and garlic with salt and fry it the ginger turns golden brown.
Ads onion and 1 tsp of methi and fry until its translucent.
To the add turmeric, coriander and chilly powder and fry for a minute and add the tomatoes and little water.
Cook for few minutes till the tomatoes becomes soft and all the ingredients get mixed well.
To this put the fried paneer and the balance methi powder.
Cook for a minute and serve.
