Mutta Rasam (Egg Rasam)

Rasam is a South Indian soup and there are many types of rasam but generally all are vegetarian.

We love egg rasam too…

 Boiled Egg – 5

Tomatoes – 1(Crushed)

Garlic cloves -3

Shallots – 4

Chili Powder- 1 tsp

Corinader Powder – 2 tsp

Hing – ¼ tsp

Tamarind – small lemon size (pulp)

Mustard Seed – 1/2 tsp

Channa Dal – ½ tsp

Coriander leaves – 1 bunch

Curry leaves -few

Salt – for taste

Oil – as needed

Water – 3 cups

Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seed, Channa dal and allow the mustard to spulter then add coriander leaves, curry leaves, chopped shallots, chopped garlic and fry for 1 or 2 minutes.

To this add  crushed tomatoes, chilly powder, coriander powder, salt , hing fry for another 3-4 minutes.

Add a Tamarind pulp, water and allow it to boil.

Put the boiled eggs and cook for 3 mints.
