Adhirasam – a South Indian sweet.


Raw rice – 500 g

Jaggery – 350 g

Cardamom for taste

Oil for deep frying

Soak raw rice for 2 hours.

After 2 hour drain the water and dry it for 10 mints on a neat cloth and grind the rice and sieve it.

Boil the jaggery adding water till it becomes little thick

Pour the jaggery to the rice powder and mix well with a ladle, cover and keep it for one hour. Again with hand knead the dough well. And keep it for a day.

Make small dough balls and press it between a plastic cover greasing with ghee to get a flat shape.

Deep fry till it becomes golden brown.
