Pumpkin Chutney
Pumpkin Chutney

Pumpkin – 2 cups (peel the skin and chop it)
Chana dal- 2 tsp
Urad dal – 1 tsp
Bengal dal – 1 tsp
Red chillies – 2-3
Coriander seeds – 1 tsp
Coriander Leaves – 2 stm
Hing – a pinch
Tamarind – small piece
Salt to taste

For Tempering:

Oil – 1 tsp
Fenugreek seeds- 1tsp
Mustard Seeds – 1 tsp
Chana Dal – 1 tsp
Dry Red Chilli – 3
Curry leaves – 1 stm


Heat oil and add Chana dal, Urad dal, Bengal dal, Coriander seeds fry till it turns brown.

Add red chillies, coriander leaves, hing and pumpkin and saute till pumpkin cook soft.

Grind the sauted mixture along with tamarind and salt to a coarse paste.

Heat 2 tsp of oil in the same pan, add fenugreek seeds, mustard seeds, when they sputter add urad dal, Chana dal red chillies, and curry leaves.

Add the paste to the pan and saute till it turn golden brown.

Serve it with idly or dosa.
