Meen curry

Netholi (Anchovy)
or any fish – 1 /2 kg
Coconut – 1 /2 cup
shallots -5 nos
Ginger – 1 small piece
Chilli powder – 2 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1 /2 tsp
Tamarind pulp – 5 tsp
Green chillies – 2 nos
Curry leaves
Coconut Oil
Salt as required


Grind coconut, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, ginger and 2 shallots and make it to a very fine paste adding little water.

Heat oil in a clay pot. Add the coconut paste with the remaining shallots (chopped) and green chilli (Slit at the end) .

Add tamarind pulp, salt and water as desired.

Once the curry starts to boil add the fish and cook for 15 mints.

Add curry leaves and 2 tsp of coconut oil and close the pan for 1 mint.

Serve warm with rice. See More
