Chettinad chicken

Ingredients

Chicken– ½ kg

Onion – 2 cup

Turmeric powder – ½ tsp

Tomato – 1 ½ cup

Cinnamon – 1 inch stick

Cloves – 3

Cardamoms – 2

Cumin – 1 tsp

Coriander leaves – few

Curry leaves– few

Salt

Oil

For Paste

Onion – 1 cup

Coconut – 1 cup

Ginger paste– 1 tsp

Garlic paste – 1 tsp

Fennel Seeds – 1 tsp

Cumin seeds – 1 ½ tsp

Peppercorns – ½ tsp

Dry Red Chilly- 3

Method

Grind the paste ingredients to paste

 

Heat oil and add the cinnamon, cardamom, cloves and cumin and saute.

 

Add chopped onions and curry leaves and saute until it turns golden.

 

Put tomatoes, turmeric powder and saute for 5 mints and add the marinated chicken adding little water and cook until the chicken is done.
