Chapati is  a very popular Indian flat bread made out of wheat and cooked in tava. It’s a staple food in India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Chapati has become a regular food even in south Indian houses specially for breakfast and dinner.

The side dish with chapatti can be veg or chicken etc.

Recipe Type – Breakfast            Cuisine: Indian                           Serves- 4


Whole wheat flour – 2 cups

Salt- 1 tsp

Oil- 1 tsp

Water – ½ cup


Take the flour, salt in a mixing bowl

Add the water gradually while mixing everything together.

Knead the dough nicely to make it soft.

Cover the dough with a mist kitchen towel and let it rest for at least 15 minutes.

Make the dough into lemon sixed balls.

Dip each ball into dry flour and roll out the balls to a thin tortilla using a rolling pin.

Heat a tawa and apply over and put the chapatti and cook both side flipping unit little brown spots appear on both sides.
